The Office of the Chief Judge is the lead agency and is seeking a Staff Clinical Social Worker / Clinical Professional Counselor to provide administravie and clinical support to the Problem-Solving Courts Administration team.
OVERVIEW The Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) Staff Clinical Social Worker / Clinical Professional Counselor will conduct screenings and clinical psychosicial histories evaluations for adults referred to Criminal Division PSC programs located at the George N.
Leighton Criminal Court Building. PSC mental health screening and evaluation may include examining health records, observing behavior, as well as the administration of psychological testing instruments and procedures triage and link eligible participants to the to appropriate PSC (i.
e. drug court, mental health court, or veterans court). The PSC Staff Clinical Social Worker will work with Cook County Jail Staff to identify jail detainees who have recently received services in the mental health system;
assist in linking these detainees with appropriate services inside the jail and referring eligible candidates to the PSC programs.
The PSC Staff Clinical Social Worker / Clinical Professional Counselor will report directly to the Director of Problem Solving Courts with ultimate responsibility to the Presiding Judge of the Criminal Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Essential Functions With oversight from the Director of Problem-Solving Courts, The PSC Staff Clinical Social Worker / Clinical Professional Counselor will provide consultation to PSC Teams regarding psychological issues for participants and by performing the following duties : In-person, on-site, Monday-Friday 8 : 30AM-4 : 30PM at the George N.
Leighton Criminal Court Building Conduct screening, evaluation, and clinical psychosocial histories in accordance with the DSM-5 / DSM-5-TR, for adults referred to Criminal Division PSC.
Collaboarte as needed with multidisciplinary PSC teams to discuss participants clinical evalautions Create personalized treatment plans with PSC participants Provides individual and group therapy services to PSC participants Provides crisis intervention to PSC participants when needed Provide psychoeducational groups based on evidence-based practices to PSC participants that include anger management, parenting skills, others as assigned / needed Examine health records, if needed Assist in linking current PSC participants or eligible candidates who are in custody with appropriate services inside the jail Provides consultations to PSC staff regarding clinical issues involving participants Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and participants This document represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions.

Education & License : The Problem-Solving Courts Staff Clinical Social Worker / Clinical Professional Counselor must have a Master’s degree of social work or forensic psychology from an accredited college or university.
Licensure in the State of Illinois as a licensed clinical social worker or a licensed clinical professional counselor is required.
Experience : Minimum of two years of experience in the human services field required; preference to experience working with adults in criminal justice system, c ourt operations, and / or project management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Knowledge / experience in the field of substance abuse treatment and Trauma-Informed Care Comprehensive knowledge of the administration and interpretation of psychological assessments Ability to make accurate DSM-5 / DSM-5TR diagnoses Comprehensive knowledge of best clinical practices and treatment Demonstrates competent written and verbal communications while having the ability to work independently QUALIFIED APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT : Letter of interest addressed to Honorable Timothy C.
