Overview
The Vice President of Hospice Operations oversees of the day-to-day operations of branch services, personnel performance, and office management.
The VP of Operations ensures the branches continually meet federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding the certification and licensure process.
This role will support the company’s strategic initiatives and success for service execution.
This role will oversee the hospice branches located in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and West Texas (Lubbock, Amarillo, El Paso).
The person hired for this role must reside in one of the states listed above or be open to relocation. Regular travel across the regional coverage area is required (up to 75%).
Responsibilities
Ensure the review of statistical data and performance markers to evaluate productivity, cost analysis, and quality care delivery within the territory;
ensure alignment with company policy and procedures.
Utilize company tools to monitor branch and provider financial, operational, and clinical outcomes as they relate to each branch budget;
ensure earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) is met.
- Identify negative trends and collaborate with branch leadership and audit teams to develop and implement improvement plans.
- Provide oversight of expenses within the territory. 5. Ensure billing, corrections, and denials are completed, reviewed, and responded to timely, and outstanding claims are kept to a minimum;
assist in the identification of billing delays, as needed.
- Assist branch leadership with initiation and management of contractual relationships.
- Oversee quality improvement issues and resolutions. 8. Ensure the assignment of branch administrators at all times to meet regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the completion of all clinical, human resource, operations, and compliance audits timely; corrective action plans should be implemented and completed accordingly.
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and be willing to obtain licensure in all states within territory - AZ, CO, ID, NM, NV, UT, TX.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school or a bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare.
- Must have demonstrated experience in health service administration with at least 5 years in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
- Must have at least 5 years demonstrated experience in direct management for a large, multiple-site Medicare certified hospice.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the federal, state, and local laws and regulatory guidelines governing the operation of a home health or hospice.
- Must be able to travel overnight by air or personal vehicle up to 50-75% of the time.

Compensation $140,000-$150,000
