Responsibilities :
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including taking X-rays, applying anesthesia, and passing instruments
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Update and maintain patient records in electronic health record systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
Skills :
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
- Familiarity with managing medical records in electronic health record systems
- Ability to assess patients' oral health conditions and document findings accurately
- Understanding of dental anatomy and common dental procedures
- Experience with dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry
