Marketing Assistant, Publications Sales & Marketing

We are actively seeking a motivated Marketing Assistant to join our scholarly publications team. In this role you will contribute to diverse projects and gain hands-on experience in many facets of marketing outreach to the civil engineering field.

You will assist in developing and executing marketing strategies, managing communications initiatives, and supporting various association tasks.

Specific Responsibilities :

• Assist Marketing Director in the creation and execution of marketing campaigns to promote ASCE Publications (ASCE Library, journals, books, ASCE AMPLIFY, and EJCDC contract documents).
• Write, edit, proofread and adapt compelling publications promotion copy for external ASCE member communication channels (social media, Association news outlets, web banners, e-mail, brochures and catalogs, and subscription renewals).
• Manage online behavioral marketing program, identifying key segments and site behavior to deliver targeted content.
• Develop new email campaigns to new Library users and members. Maintain lists and monitor effective benchmarks to measure impact.
• Support Marketing Manager with email campaign development and execution.
• Assist in developing content for social media (X and LinkedIn) in collaboration with social media lead, as needed.
• Maintain marketing elements (including pricing and classifications) in STREAM.
• Manage sales-related information (including discount codes) in Personify, our customer management system.
• Perform promotion code analysis and run sales reports as needed.
• Respond to customer and permission-related inquiries.
• Support for sales campaigns and special projects as needed.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Ideal candidate will have :

• Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field (or similar real-world experience).
• Two years of marketing experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
• Firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing.
• Adeptness at developing and maintaining strong relationships with assigned teams.
