Heavy Equipment Operator Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Street, Road & Highway Construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for earthmoving operations with a variety of heavy equipment.
This key role must be pushed to ensure construction projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities :
Operates construction, excavation, and demolition equipment including excavators, front-end loaders, and skid steers.
Ability to load dump trucks with broken concrete utilizing an excavator or front-end loader.
The ability to break concrete with an excavator with hydraulic breaker.
Operate machinery used to build and / or demolish bridges, buildings, and highways.
Inspects and fuels equipment before beginning shift.
Communicate clearly with dispatch and supervisors
Perform routine maintenance checks and report needed repairs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :
Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
Excellent mechanical skills.
Ability to follow instructions.
Proficient in English
Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards.
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
