Coreshell's metallurgical Silicon anode technology delivers high capacity, fast-charging, and superior safety. Our low-cost liquid-phase nano-coating addresses critical electrode-surface degradation issues and enables batteries with a Silicon-dominant anode that have higher energy density, superior intrinsic thermal safety, and significantly lower cost / kWh compared to current LIBs.

Our Si anode material is 50% the cost of graphite and 100% domestically sourced. We strive to transform the global automotive market by enabling low-cost and long-range EVs as a first step towards net-zero sustainability in the near future.

  • Improve OEE to ensure on time and high quality cell deliveries.
  • Lead PFMEA / DFMEA process to continuously improve equipment performance and functionality.
  • Work with Process Engineers to develop process controls for equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to troubleshoot and improve the equipment via PLC, HMI, and other software optimizations.
  • Prototype and test new equipment to verify functionality and performance with the goal of introducing them into the cell manufacturing line.

Required experience :

  • Lithium-ion cell (Roll-to-Roll, assembly process, formation) automation line commissioning experience is a must.
  • Experience in production equipment installation and validation is a must.
  • Mechanical design experience from concept to production.
  • Experience in CAD (Solidworks, Catia) is a must and FEA analysis is a plus.
  • Deep material understanding regarding base, surface coating, and heat treatment selection for components.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance control is a must.
  • In-line metrology (Vision, beta ray, laser sensor, etc) bring-up experience is a plus.
  • PLC (Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, Allen Bradley) experience is a plus.
  • Experience in statistical analysis (Python, JMP, Minitab, MySQL) is a plus.

Required qualifications :

  • A B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering OR experience in a similarly relevant field with 5+ years of industrial experience.
  • Ability to travel internationally to vendor sites.

Location & Benefits : San Leandro, CA. Full-time. $151,000 208,000. Salary and equity options depend on experience. Dental, vision, healthcare and 401(k) benefits are included.
