JobDescription
What you will be doing :
- Plan implement and supervise all project safety accidentand fire prevention programs for a major bridgereplacement
- Direct the work of other SafetyManagers and personnel
- Analyze need anddetermine specifications for protective safety equipment materialsand gear
- Direct surveillance inspect andcontrol hazardous working conditions or unsafe employeeactivities
- Insure all required records andreports are complete accurate and submitted as per establishedprocedures
- Maintain Safety and Health Programthat meets or exceeds corporate minimum requirements
- Create communicate enforce and identify opportunities forimprovements in Project Safety Program
- Coordinate schedule and facilitate all SubcontractorsPreConstruction Safety Planning Meetings acting as a resource forfield operations with compliance on Federal (OSHA) and state aswell as local safety and health regulations
- Maintain all administrative tasks related to projectspecific safety documentation / filing system etc. including OSHArecord keeping management reports etc.
- Reviewand approve all Subcontractors Site Specific Safety Programs andJob Hazard Analysis prior to Subcontractor mobilization
- Conduct regular site evaluations follow up and trackingof corrections to deficiencies
- Attendsuperintendent meetings and monitor Tool Box Talks / Discussions toassure documentation and quality
- Perform rootcause and accident investigation techniques in the event of a jobsite accident including collection of safety and healthstandard incident reporting forms and documentation working closelywith local and Risk Management
- Enforcedocumentation on the proper training of employees as related totheir scope of work
- Ability to conduct inhousetraining on various health and safety related topics
- Assist with OSHA inspections compliance reviews insuranceprovider reviews / audits and other federal state or local agencyreviews / inquiries
- Work with senior managementline management and project teams to ensure organizationsSH&E compliance
- Implement SH&Eprograms conduct training
- Risk / ClaimsManagement
Experience you willneed :
- Bachelors Degree in a relatedfield and industry related professional certifications such as CSP(Certified Safety Professional) CHST (Certified Health &Safety Technician) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) arestrongly preferred
- 5 years of safety workingexperience in the Heavy Construction
- Thoroughknowledge of applicable government regulations safety complianceand industrial hygiene
- Business acumen stronganalytical skills and strategic thinking abilities
- Understanding of organizational behavior communicationskills the ability to influence ability to work on a team and theability to influence positively
- Electricalsafety working knowledge
- Selfstarter
- OSHA Outreach Trainerfor the Construction Industry CHST and / or Certified SafetyProfessional certification
- Selfmotivated teamfocused professional
- ISO 45001 & 14001knowledge
