Distribution Planning Engineer

Overview

Due to continued growth, our Power Delivery group is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer in our Distribution Planning and Analysis Group.

This position will be located in our Kennesaw, GA office.

Responsibilities

  • Problem identification and resolution on Distribution design projects
  • Knowledge of distribution analysis and planning using software such as Windmil, CYME and / or Synergi
  • Knowledge of Time-Current Characteristics modeling and programming of typical electrical distribution equipment such as fuses, tripsavers, and reclosers
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution system planning and design engineering standards, practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Review of completed analysis and planning products to ensure compliance with client, industry, and regulatory requirements
  • Review of planning products and design products to ensure compliance with quality and consistency expectations
  • Develop technical system planning work scopes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering (or similar), or equivalent education and / or experience
  • PE highly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of Power Delivery experience required
  • Must be proficient with software such as Windmil, CYME and / or Synergi
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution system planning and design engineering standards and practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Must be proficient with typical office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Windows
  • Strong computer (. Microsoft Office) and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to learn and operate client provided programs and systems
  • Ability to work effectively with a team
  • Ability to travel up to 20 - 25% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project and / or marketing meetings
