THE TEAM
Make-A-Wish America is the national headquarters for our organization, providing resources and support for our 58 Chapters around the country.
The Information Technology team is comprised of a diverse team of technologists responsible for building and operating the technologies that enable Make-A-Wish to grant the wish of every eligible child.
The Information Technology team is focused on providing innovative solutions across these key areas : Operations, Security, Applications, Infrastructure, Governance, and Analytics.
THE ROLE
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the successful development, introduction, adoption, and growth of one or more enterprise-wide technology products within Make-A-Wish (MAW).
The Senior Product Manager (PM) is a decision leader for all assigned products, ensuring appropriate road mapping and prioritization given organization goals and the ongoing constraints of resources and budgets.
The Senior PM builds strong partnerships with operational SMEs and technology teams alike to create and maintain products that meet the goals of Make-A-Wish and its users.
Additionally, the Senior PM provides coaching and mentoring to technical and non-technical staff alike on Agile methodologies and continuous improvement.
WHERE YOU COME IN
As the Senior Product Manager you will :
- Provide mentorship and coaching around strong Agile practices and continuous improvement with both technical and non-technical partners. Lead through example.
- Work with system users, Information Technology (IT) team, business departments and MAW leadership to determine and document user system needs, long-term product strategy and roadmap to create vision for ongoing development.
- Own all aspects of customer success with products; identify, analyze, and mitigate risks and issues (technical and non-technical) associated with end user and stakeholder adoption of product related change.
- Partner with IT team and vendors to learn (if applicable) and execute technology system development fundamentals, including creating acceptance criteria for system enhancements, composing test scripts, sprint planning and
- execution, and participating in user acceptance testing (UAT) and system demonstrations.
- Partner closely with IT teams to solve problems and remove obstacles.
- Partner with IT team to maintain full awareness of upcoming system upgrades to properly identify and mitigate associated product level risks.
- Monitor and remediate challenges with application adoption in conjunction with business leadership.
- Determine and document initial and emergent user training needs; partner with internal and external training resources to ensure the proper development of training resources.
- Actively participate in and, as necessary, lead end user groups to facilitate cross chapter communication and education on system(s);
ensure all stakeholders are fully informed at appropriate times of all product-related changes.
Partner closely with business leaders and the IT department to develop business cases, product evaluations, communications, and reporting
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
- 7 years+ experience leading ongoing process improvement and / or complex technology projects.
- Prior experience with Salesforce CRM strongly preferred.
- Non-profit experience and experience in a large federated or decentralized business strongly preferred.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is a plus.
- Position may require travel to organizational conferences and events.
