DESCRIPTION
Accounting Manager
Centrally located Oil and Gas firm hiring for Accounting Manager. The position is that of an experienced leader for the O&G accounting group.
The successful candidate will possess the experience and skills necessary to perform the daily requirements of an accounting manager, having a strong oil and gas accounting background and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of oil and gas accountants
- Develop and monitor processes and controls to promote timely and accurate financial reporting across client base
- Oversee project management / coordinate processes for new client onboarding and other projects
- Interface with clients regarding their account statuses, maintaining open lines of communication with regular status meetings
- Analyze reasonableness of revenue and expenses (i.e. fluctuations, missing checks, NRI and WI accuracy, new wells coming online, etc.)
- Validate production data and verify pricing
- Provide guidance on various oil and gas accounting issues surrounding taxes, deductions, etc.
- Annual 1099 processing and property tax reporting
- Month-end close and reconciliations (i.e. cash, revenue, operating expenses, etc.)
- Analyze price and volume variances, and report variances with explanations to leadership
Skills Required :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Communicate effectively with ownership, management and accounting team members
- Maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, ERP experience and the ability to learn all software
