Description
SUMMARY : Provide financial services to students (and their families) to assist them in meeting their educational goals.
Communicate personal care to each student while focusing on very detailed work.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide appropriate and accurate information to prospective and continuing students regarding educational costs and financial aid information.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other departments across the university, including Admissions, Student Accounts, and the Registrar's office, to ensure effective and efficient services to current and prospective students with results being to assist in enrolling and retaining students.
- Knowledge of compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations and policies in order to exercise professional judgment in accordance with established policies.
- Present financial workshops and award, verify, and revise financial aid as needed by Director.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Proven combination of strong analytical skills coupled with superior communication skills, including verbal and written communications, effectively communicating via telephone, email, and internet.
- Comfortable speaking one-on-one, or in a public speaking venue, with a wide variety of employees and constituents of the university, including administrators, staff, students and parents, or prospective students and parents.
- Ability to communicate with external contacts such as loan service providers, the Department of Education and other federal organizations is also a desired ability in this position.
- Skilled in working with and assisting students and potential students and must be comfortable working with diverse populations.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Bachelor’s degree required. One plus years of related experience and / or training; higher education experience preferred.
