Our comprehensive programs include lactation rooms, equipment, consultations, education, classes, and more. In addition, we operate Breastfeeding Centers in Burlingame and Menlo Park, California to support parents directly.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site employee role as a Lactation Consultant at our Burlingame and Menlo Park, CA locations and traveling for home-visits across the San Francisco Bay Area.
As a Lactation Consultant, your day-to-day tasks will involve providing chest / breastfeeding consultations, education, support groups, and classes to new parents.
Hours and Role
Available at least 3 days a week from 9am-4pm, additional availability and days are welcome. You are available some weekends.
Hours are not guaranteed.
Qualifications
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and you must have recertified at least once
- 5+ years of outpatient lactation experience
- Bachelors degree or higher
- Able to have primary location be Burlingame , CA
- Willing to travel
- Strong technology skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of individuals including families
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Experience working with lactation parents in a professional capacity
- Additional certifications and training in related fields are a plus
- Extensive knowlege on tongue ties and the impact on lactation
Due to conflict of interest, we do not work with consultants who have a private practice. Working for a hospital, a Medical Providers Office or in A WIC Clinic as an IBCLC is not considered a conflict of interest.
We value a passion for supporting new parents and a commitment to providing compassionate care. Native fluency in English is required.
Fluency in multiple languages is also a plus, as we serve a diverse range of clients.
