JOB SUMMARY
Mount Sinai Hospital's Emergency Department is a Level I Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Certified Stroke Center and EDAP (emergency department approved for pediatrics).
We are a region XI Associate Hospital that receives and directs Chicago Fire Department ambulances. Our ED sees approximately 55,000 visits yearly and annually has over 2000 level I traumas.
There are 23 main ED beds and 8 fast track beds in our department.
All of our Emergency Department Physicians are board certified and we value education and training for all of our staff in the ED.
Our nurses are all ACLS and PALS trained and we have a high number of both TNS (trauma nurse specialist) and CEN (certified emergency nurse).
Mt Sinai is a teaching hospital and the Emergency Department plays a role in teaching Emergency Residents, RN students, PA students and EMT's.
We care for patients of all ages with both minor and critical complaints. Our goal is to provide excellent emergency care for all patients in a safe, compassionate and timely manner with a focus on customer service.
The Emergency Department has consistently high patient satisfaction scores and is constantly working to improve. Team work among staff is very high and our staff is highly engaged.
Our Unit based council has worked on staff recognition, patient satisfaction and staff education projects with excellent results.

Minimum Requirements :
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 2 Years trauma experience
- CPR, ACLS required
- TNCC, TNS, CEN Preferred
- Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois
