Job Summary :
- Must follow written instructions from the instruments list using medical terminology. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively for purposes of information transfer with duties to include but not limited to : foreseeing principles of aseptic technique and performing quality checks with accuracy and reliability;
- overseeing and operating equipment for cleaning and disinfecting of surgical equipment; overseeing and participating in the assembly of complex as well as simple surgical sets;
- operating equipment for the sterilization of complex and simple surgical sets using Steam under pressure, Steris, and Sterrad;
records the monitoring of sterilization and decontamination of equipment; trains and orients staff; responds to urgent and routine requests for surgical instrumentation from .
personnel. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Successful completion of a nationally accredited central service technician exam AND current certification administered by a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization as a registered central service technician, sterile processing and distribution technician, or possession of a substantially equivalent credential.
Evidence of employment as a Central Service Technician in a Healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year between January 1, 2011 and January 1, 2015.
Examination and certification as described above within eighteen months of hire.
Candidates who do not possess one-year of experience will be considered for appointment to an entry-level position (TH Sterile Supply Technician 1, SG.
07) at commensurate salary.
Work Days :
Schedule is based on a 40 hour work week. Monday-Friday 3 : 00pm-11 : 30pm, weekends and holidays rotating based on operational needs.
