All facilities maintenance personnel are considered essential personnel and may be required to respond to campus emergencies, including inclement weather : Position Summary Portland State University is hiring an experienced Electrical Manager to lead a team of dedicated electricians responsible for electrical maintenance, repair, upgrades, testing and preservation of physical assets across campus.
The ideal candidate will have an extensive electrical maintenance background and be an experienced leader with strong customer service skills and a focus on safety;
the ability to build rapport with internal and external customers; and the ability to balance competing demands while implementing innovative solutions.
This is a permanent full-time position within an innovative team-oriented environment located in downtown Portland, and includes a with at least 32 days of paid time off each year, 95% employer-funded premium healthcare, , and for the employee, dependent children, and your spouse or domestic partner. Minimum Qualifications
- Management experience with a minimum of 3 years managing staff in the maintenance, repair, and construction of electrical systems and equipment, or a related field
- Valid General Journeyman Electrician License.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work weekends and respond to after hours emergencies. Such work is expected to be occasional.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in collaboration with members of the campus community.
- Valid state issued driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a background check. Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Oregon General Supervising Electrician license.
- Education, certification(s), or training in facilities maintenance, project management, or a related field.

Work Days / Hours Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week. May be required to respond to after-hours emergencies. Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting annual salary rate for this position will be between $80,088 and $112,008, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
