Location and hours :
These positions are located at the NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center at 2220 Plymouth Avenue North, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55411 with the potential to work at the satellite clinic at 800 West Broadway Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55411.
Clinic hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8 : 15 a.m. - 5 p.m., Thursday 8 : 15 - 7 p.m. and rotating Saturdays 8 a.
m. - 12 p.m. Work hours will vary.

These are full-time, benefit earning positions.
These positions are internally classified as a Dental Assistant.

In these positions, you will :
- Assist chairside with diagnostic, oral surgery, fixed and removable prosthodontics, endodontics, pedodontics, and restorative procedures.
- Perform all allowable expanded functions such as digital radiographs, impressions, and bite registrations; mechanically polish teeth, place sealants, and fabricate temporary crowns;
monitor, or administer, if applicable, patients that are induced under N2O.
- Deliver a high-level of service to our guests.
- Demonstrate competency in electronic dental records and other computer systems.
- Maintain dental department areas in compliance with dental department directives and protocols as well as clinic policies and procedures relative to infection control, exposure control, and safety issues.
- Perform appointment scheduling, charting, and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with periodontal charting, room turnover, and provide patient education.
Need to have :
- Completion of an accredited program as a Dental Assistant.
- Possession of a valid license or eligible for licensure as a Dental Assistant by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry; must pass the Dental Assistant exam within six months after employment.

Experience : Providing culturally sensitive care to patients of diverse ages, ethnicities, and countries of origin.Using Dentrix to enter and retrieve EDR patient data quickly and efficiently.
Working with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) security and privacy compliance.
- Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service.
- Ability to : Lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.Prepare, clean, and properly handle dental equipment and instruments.Follow proper Infection Control and Health & Safety procedures.
Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).Follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) security and privacy compliance.
Demonstrate respect and appreciation for the diversity of co-workers and clients regardless of race, age, gender, disability, values, lifestyle perspectives, or interests.
Effectively communicate with department staff, health care center staff, patients, interpreters, and the community while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
Understand oral and written instructions.
Candidates with fluency in another language in addition to English, especially Hmong and Spanish, are encouraged to apply.
