About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Specialty : ICU Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12 Hour Days Guaranteed Hours : 48 per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required (excluding travel experience) License : Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (REQUIRED) Must-Have : Epic experience Job Description : Provide care for complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases.
- Manage patients with diagnoses including ARDS, MI, CVA / TIA, post-cardiac catheterization, post-surgical conditions, and multiple system traumas.
- Cardiac experience preferred; familiarity with CABG / TAVR post-operation is advantageous.- Handle patient ratios of 1 : 1, 1 : 2, or rarely 1 : 3, depending on acuity.
- Comfortable working a 48-hour per week contract; non-negotiable.- Qualified to float within ICU and to other units as needed.
- Administer IV medications, including vasopressors and sedatives, and manage hemodynamic lines and ventilators.- Utilize telemetry, critical thinking, and strong assessment skills.
- Participate in a supportive unit with nurse aides, resource nurses, and 24 / 7 respiratory therapists.- Work under the guidance of intensivists and with a charge nurse overseeing all ICUs.
- Attend hospital orientation and shift-based ICU training.- Weekend rotations required every other week.- Work during holiday periods;
availability expected.- Adhere to the unit's dress code by wearing navy scrubs.
