Type : Part-Time Flex Shift : Varied
Shift Details : Monday - Friday, 2 - 12 hr shifts and 1 - 8 hr shift. Day shift with variable start times. Night, weekend and holiday call rotation required.

PACU
Brockton Hospital's PACU is a dynamic environment comprising a 12-bay PACU and a 7-bay Short Stay / Surgical Day Care. As part of a bustling department with 6 Operating Rooms handling 25-30 daily cases, our surgical specialties span a wide range, including general, urology, spine, and sports medicine, with a focus on orthopedics as our busiest service line.
With approximately 75% of our surgeries resulting in same-day discharge, our PACU adopts a traditional open-concept layout to provide comprehensive, patient-centric care.
Our dedicated nursing and support staff collaborates seamlessly with OR and Anesthesia providers, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care and satisfaction.
The PACU team goes above and beyond to prioritize patient well-being, fostering a welcoming and strong sense of teamwork that creates a genuine community atmosphere.
Engaging staff input and involvement, the PACU manager promotes work satisfaction and cultivates a Culture of Safety.
Registered Nurse (RN) Roles and Responsibilities :
Assessment : collects relevant patient health data (age-specific pertinent to specialty area).
Diagnosis : analyzes the assessment data in determining nursing diagnoses.
Outcome identification : identifies individualized, expected outcomes for patient.
Planning / Implementation : develops and implements Plan of Care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
Evaluation : evaluates and documents the patient's progress toward attaining expected outcomes in the patient medical record.
Provide nursing care to assigned patients.
Administers prescribed medication and intravenous solutions in a safe manner.
Reports significant alterations in patient's condition to physician.
Counsels, educate, and includes patients and their families in accordance with the overall plan of care.
Assists patient and family in coping with stress accompanying illness; offering solace and support to the dying.
Quality of Care : systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
Individual Practice Evaluation : reflects knowledge of current professional practice standards, laws, regulations, and changes in health care delivery, in daily practice.
Education : acquires and maintains current knowledge and competency in the care of patients.
Collegiality : interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and other healthcare providers as colleagues.
Ethics : decisions and actions on behalf of patients are determined in an ethical manner.
Collaboration : collaborates with the team, consisting of patient, family, and healthcare providers, in providing patient care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
Research : uses clinical inquiry in practice
Resource Utilization : considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering patient care.

Required
Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered
Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers completion.
Recent Critical Care / ICU experience and / or PACU Phase 1 & Phase 2 experience in a hospital setting required. Possible rotation through Pre-Admission Testing and Preop / Holding areas in addition to PACU Phase 1 and Phase 2.
Preferred
PALS certification & pediatric experience preferred.
Software / Hardware : Meditech experience preferred.
