We are seeking a Civil Engineer in our Site / Land Development group. Candidate will work on residential and commercial projects involving site planning and all areas of plan preparation, such as : site design, grading, utilities, erosion, hydrology, water / sewer, etc.
This person will interface with customers and work on projects from concept to completion and should have good communication skills.
This position can be located in Gulf Breeze, Chipley, or Tallahassee, FL.
Requirements :
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepare design documents and reports for civil site development (site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems)
- Perform calculations, cost estimates, prepare drawings, technical specifications, and write reports.
- Coordinate civil design with entry-level staff along with other disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets while working directly under licensed engineers
- Ensures QA / QC of own work and work of project team that individual is working with.
- Able to lead small to medium size teams in coordinating civil / structural efforts and keeping the team focused on scope, schedule and budget.
- Advising the senior engineer concerning design or scope changes, which have been identified.
- Reviewing fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Performing fieldwork necessary to gather field data, check tie-ins and provide construction support.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced drafting and engineering personnel in the department.
- Ability to work semi- autonomously / remotely and still be productive
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Civil Engineering Technology
- Min 2 years of experience on site / land development projects with project design
- PE certification preferred or ability to obtain within 2-3 years
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Computer knowledge / experience with Microsoft Office (Word / Excel)
Experience with the following software :
Working knowledge of design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D)
