PAY SCALE : $67,200.00 to $84,000.00 per year

FTE : 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), exempt

Hours and Location : M-F 9 am 5 pm. Work hours outside of traditional hours may be necessary

Job Summary :

A Behavioral Health Resource Network (BHRN) means an entity or network of entities that receives funds from the OAC through OHA under SB 755, Section 2.

2)(a). The BHRNs will provide services to all in need of treatment and support for substance use concerns, including but not limited to : housing, harm reduction, peer support, supported employment and substance use disorder treatment.

The ideal MHAAO Program Manager oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of the specifically assigned peers and duties of the evolving Recovery Campus program including planning, developing, organizing, staffing, leading, and guiding program activities in line with the deliverables of M110 BHRN program funder, the core values of peer support and the mission and values of Mental Health & Addiction Association of Oregon (MHAAO).

This person is able to balance being in the field with program management and supervision duties.

Education : Three to five years related experience and / or training : or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Background Check : A criminal background check will be conducted by MHAAO in accordance with the MHAAO background check policy.

General Accountabilities and Essential Functions

  • Supervises peers support specialists (scheduled 1 : 1, group monthly)
  • Assists with onboarding and training of new Peer Support Specialist staff
  • Collaboratively works with MHAAO BHRN Director, BHRN PSS / CRM team members and various community partners to achieve BHRN goals
  • Participates in program development, understanding and supporting system integration and improvement
  • Has knowledge of and relationships with community service and resource providers
  • Feedback and coaching to PSSs; setting expectations regarding remediation / performance improvement
  • Provides clear channels of communication with MHAAO BHRN Director, appropriate BHRN members and other relevant community partners.
  • Reporting, time sheet, and contract compliance
  • Step in to provide coverage for 1 : 1 peer support / recovery mentor staff as needed
  • Ability to learn and support PSS staff training with data entry and encounter notes on platforms such as the nonclinical screening tool and Recovery Link
  • Stationed at Recovery campus full time to assist in the operation of the campus services
  • Crisis de escalation intervention if needed at Recovery Campus
  • Computer literacy is a vital component of this role. Demonstrated ability to use word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, and Internet programs

Skills and Knowledge Required : Demonstrates a strong foundation in the core values and principles of peer support (fidelity and scope).

Candidates with substance use disorder (SUD) or lived experience with addiction are required to have at least 2 years continuous recovery at time of hire.

A knowledge of human services / peer support program development and capacity building. Ability to network and collaborate with diverse groups of people who have varied skills and knowledge.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret mental health and recovery periodicals, professional journals, and government regulations.

Well-developed writing skills including the ability to write for publication, and to create reports, technical assistance guides, and educational and training materials.

Ability to respond to questions from other community organizations, consumers, and the general public. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Personal Qualities : The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about and committed to the MHAAO mission. Must be a good communicator and sensitive to various communication and learning styles.

Is comfortable with the shared duties and daily prioritization shifts inherent to a small non-profit environment. Must have lived experience of mental health and addiction recovery.

Possesses an absolute belief in every peer’s ability to learn, grow and recover. Possesses insight pertaining to personal biases and worldview and how they may interfere with effectively working with individuals representing a variety of cultural, ethnic, language and life experiences.

Amount of Travel :

Regular travel via car. Must have Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
