JobResponsibilities :

Thefollowing represents some major areas of concern in SpecialEducation. Other areas in the Special Education field will berequired to fulfill all the needs of the classroom and studentIEPs.

• Plancurriculum lessons and special education programs and teachingmethods.
• Maintain contact withparents of students and invite them to participate in educationalprogress.
• Maintain the physicalenvironment of the classroom for organization and presentationpurposes.
• Instruct individuals andgroups on Special Ed. skillareas.
• Modify curriculum accordingto IEP and administer testingevaluations.

Requirements

• BachelorsDegree required with classroom experiencepreferred.
• Active state license as aSpecial Education Teacher.
• 1 yearsof experience working as a Special EducationTeacher.
• Need one special educationteacher who has experience teaching special education students(preferred experience in teaching in a therapeutic program withstudents with social / emotional / behavioralchallenges.
• The teacher will beteaching all core subjects (ELA Math Science and Social Studies)for a class of 58 students.
• Theselfcontained program is in a multigraded classroom of students ingrades 46 at theSchool.
