JOB SUMMARY : Formulate and apply advanced analytical approaches, such as statistical modeling, forecasting, machine learning, mathematical optimization, and decision analysis, to name a few, in the production of analytical models, tools, and processes to improve the effectiveness and relevance of our efforts to drive incremental business value for the company.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Explore new, state-of-the-art analytical tools, methodologies, and technology that can be leveraged by our team.
• Formulate and apply advanced analytical approaches, such as causal and time series forecasting modeling, econometric methods, machine learning modeling, mathematical optimization, to name a few, for complex analyses, predictions and problem-solving.

Perform data and error analysis to improve models.

• Own and drive initiatives end-to-end that deliver business value, from formulating the problem, model building through developing a solution.
• Lead and manage Analysts, Engineers, Associate Data Scientists and / or Data Scientists.
• Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing data. Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Use business intelligence tools to create and maintain clear and compelling reporting and visualizations to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION : Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in industrial engineering, operations research, mathematics, statistics, computer science, decision science, management science, data science, data analytics, or a closely-related field of study is required.

Doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Decision Science, Management Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a closely-related field of study preferred.

EXPERIENCE : 7+ years of experience formulating and applying advanced analytical approaches in theme parks, resorts, retail / dining / entertainment venues, hospitality industry, etc.

is preferred. 5+ years of applied experience in analytical model design, development and deployment; or a combination of education and experience is required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION : Develop analytical and predictive models and solutions for any and all operating divisions within Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) to support key decisions in order to drive incremental business value.

The ideal candidate should not only have a strong foundation in advanced analytical modeling, programming, and data analysis, but should also have a passion for solving real-world problems using data-driven insights, along with the ability to translate and communicate complex data into actionable insights.

The candidate will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision-making processes and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

In addition, the person in this role will be responsible for supporting and guiding Analysts, Engineers, Associate Data Scientists and Data Scientists on the use of advanced model development methodologies.
