A law firm in Cleveland is seeking a talented Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to join its Intellectual Property Group.
The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience and will be responsible for a variety of tasks in patent preparation and prosecution, patent licensing, conducting due diligence, and providing patentability and clearance opinions.
Superior analytical, oral, and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to excel in a collaborative team environment.
Duties :
- Serve in patent preparation and prosecution, ensuring compliance with legal standards and regulations.
- Conduct patent licensing activities, negotiating agreements, and resolving related legal matters.
- Perform patentability searches and clearance opinions to assess the viability of inventions.
- Manage patent portfolios for clients, including strategic planning and maintenance.
- Conduct due diligence investigations related to intellectual property matters.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to achieve successful outcomes in IP matters.
- Prepare and present legal documents and reports, maintaining accuracy and detail.
- Stay updated on intellectual property laws and regulations to provide informed counsel.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Excellent academic credentials, demonstrating a strong understanding of IP law.
- Licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Experience :
- 2-5 years of experience in intellectual property law, preferably with a focus on patent preparation and prosecution.
- Experience in patent licensing, portfolio management, and due diligence is advantageous.
