About the Job
The Aquatics Operations Coordinator monitors the quality of safety, programming, member retention, and customer satisfaction of the Aquatics Department.
The Aquatics Operations Coordinator assists the Aquatics Director in supervising the Aquatics Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructors.
This includes overseeing facility operations, coordinating program and operation schedules for the pool, managing aquatics timecards, and ensuring the training and certifications of the Aquatics Lifeguard staff are up-to-date and accurate.
Furthermore, the coordinator is responsible for providing safe operations in accordance with the association's policies and standards.
The Aquatics Operations Coordinator will also assist the Aquatics Director as needed in leading and developing the branch’s aquatics programs and staff affiliated with those programs.
This includes stepping in when needed. The Aquatics Operations Coordinator will have a minimum of 20 hours of direct service, which include but are not limited to lifeguarding, lifeguard instruction, swim instruction, or deck supervision.
Salary range : $28.00 to $33.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- 18+ years old
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be available mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
- Schedule : 5 days a week, including up to 1 weekend day
- 2+ years of Aquatics Operations
- Effective leadership and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Current YMCA approved certification in Lifeguard with Administrating Emergency Oxygen, Lifeguard Instructor, YSLI v.6*
- YMCA will provide trainings upon hire if not already certified
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of supervising and leading teams
