Job Description
The Department of Marketing in the W. P. Carey School of Business is seeking a detail-oriented, self-starter, who has strong communication skills and is comfortable working in a flexible and multitasking environment.
The successful candidate will work independently under general direction and also work as part of a team, providing backup support and assistance to others as needed.
The position will include office duties and event coordination for the Department of Marketing with emphasis in the Professional Sales Program.
Days and Schedule : Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday 8 : 00-5 : 00. There will be occasional evening hours and at least two weekends during the academic year.
This position will require you to be on the Tempe Campus. There is possibility for a hybrid work arrangement in accordance with ASU policies.

Essential Duties
- Serve as primary staff support for Professional Sales Program events as well as other events in the Department of Marketing
- Coordinate all logistics and execution of assigned events including two large multi-university events
- This position will require hours to be worked in the evenings and at least two weekends during the academic year
- Serve as the primary representative during events, room set-up, registration / check-in, as well as responding to and troubleshooting event related issues
- Compose correspondence to university staff, faculty, students and external partners representing the department
- Serves as key point of contact for various Department Board members. This includes but is not limited to cultivating and maintaining relations
- Coordinates arrangements for guest speakers for assigned classes
- Create invoices for membership dues and event sponsorships
- Maintain record-keeping systems through database and spreadsheet entries
- Assist with inputting and coordinating group travel for the Professional Sales Program faculty
- Organize and input awards for the various event competitions throughout the year
- Responsible for processing invoices and payments related to the events. Organize and gather all related documentation related to the event
- Assist with updates to the departments website
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and / or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

- Experience in keeping detailed records and gathering documentation
- Experience fulfilling an externally facing role in a university / corporate setting

- Experience building working relationships with internal / external constituents in a team setting
- Experience in providing excellent customer service
- Experience in working with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience working in systems such as Workday, Concur, PeopleSoft, Aventri, Adobe, Question Pro, Qualtrics, Google Forms and / or Canva
- Experience in the production of marketing materials including flyers, print advertisements, and direct mail pieces
- Experience utilizing social media for programmatic purposes
Working Environment
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to 50 pounds.
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. May include exposure to external environment / climate conditions including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing and high temperatures.
Flexible Work Options
Alternativework schedules can include four, 10-hour workdays in a workweek; a nine-day, 80-hour schedule over two workweeks for exempt employees only;
and staggered start and stop times.
Hybridwork is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location.
