We are looking for an Electrical Engineer (Rotating Machine Design) to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.
Your Responsibilities :
Designs and analyzes moderately complex electro-mechanical components and systems. Conducts analytical studies on new and modified designs.
Develops design information for use in reports, specifications, and drawings. Directs support personnel in product design, analysis, fabrication, and testing.

Your Challenge :
Designs new equipment and machinery (pumps, motors, generators, exciters) by having a useful understanding and application of engineering software tools and systems (e.
g. Ansys Maxwell, MATLAB, MATHCAD, Altair Flux, etc.) as necessary to complete assignments.
Designs and conducts experiments, collects data and interprets results; conducts analysis and writes analysis and test reports.
Capable of drawing conclusions and reconciling differences between predicted values and actual results.
- Assess new and existing equipment to optimize design efficiency, safety, quality and cost effectiveness. Provides engineering design, maintenance support and training for new product and equipment.
- Determines technical objectives and develops innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems.
Provides technical support to failure investigations and bid responses.
- Capable of leading engineering teams through moderately complex technical issues. Actively supports development of engineering planning for development of new designs and redesign efforts.
- Performs engineering assignments in a timely manner under minimal guidance of a more senior engineer. Plans, coordinates, and executes, with guidance, a variety of engineering activities including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations.
What you Bring :
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ Electrical Engineer experience required. MSEE a plus
- 2D / 3D Electro Magnetic Finite Element Analysis, System Modeling (Mathcad, Matlab, Flux2D), Thermal Analysis
- Preferred Experience with low frequency electromagnetic FEA software and circuit simulation in MATLAB / Simulink
- Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews with minimal guidance.
- Capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities.
- Must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
