Job Title : Medical Assistant
Job Description
Perform vital sign documentation. Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
Organize and perform patient care services that support the physician’s practice. Prepare patients for examination / procedures.
Assist physicians with procedures. Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person. Collect patient data in person and by phone and document patient concerns.
Document messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician’s review. Administer medications specifically directed by the physician.
Complete and accurate message taking, routing messages to the appropriate area for direction, order and referral entry, setting up of cases in EMR system plus basic registration and updating of demographics.
Assist physician / nurse practitioner with exams and procedures. Accurately document medical information in the patient records.
Track and route test results to physician(s) / nurse practitioner(s) for review. Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate by physician / nurse practitioner.
Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage as appropriate and directed by physician / nurse practitioner (as per site operation).
Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies. Perform basic computer skills using electronic health record proficiently while conducting daily documentation and communications involved in patient care.
Process orders appropriately and accurately.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 7 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Middletown, New York.
Work Environment
Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM (flexibility to work to 6 PM if needed). Busy urgent care with 50-100 patients a day.
