Position Summary

The , University at Buffalo, The State University of New York invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month term (non-tenure track) position in Clinical Audiology.

Appointment will be made at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor depending on candidate profile.

Areas of faculty interest may include but are not limited to clinical experience in pediatric audiology, hearing aids, vestibular audiology, cochlear implants, auditory processing disorder, telehealth, and clinical research.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide graduate student clinical education and training for CDS’s Clinical Doctor of Audiology program (AuD).

Faculty are expected to take part in all facets of AuD training including direct clinical supervision in the and in the Western New York Community, participate on committees for graduate student research projects, conduct administrative duties associated with off-site clinical placements, and will have opportunities to develop specialty clinics.

Faculty will also be expected to teach graduate-level coursework within their areas of expertise. Additionally, faculty will be responsible to provide service to the department, the university, and to the community.

Essential duties of the position include :

  • Provide clinical audiology services in our UB Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Clinic and in the community.
  • Educate and train graduate audiology students in our clinic, during hands on labs, and while in the community.
  • Manage administration related to clinical training and clinical operations.
  • Develop interprofessional and collaborative clinical relationships within and outside the university community.
  • Teach 1-4 academic courses across the calendar year.

UB is a member of the AAU and has a strong tradition of research excellence in Communication Sciences and Disorders that includes training of doctoral students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Audiology with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and a minimum of 1 year of clinical supervision experience.
  • Candidates are required to have or be eligible for ASHA certification, CCC-A
  • Have or be eligible for NY State Licensure
  • Have or be eligible for a NY State Hearing Aid Dispensing License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience in speech and hearing science at the university level preferred.
  • Preferred candidates are engaging, motivated, self-initiators, and highly organized.

Physical Demands Candidates must be able to work as an Audiologist in a clinical environment, travel to sites in the WNY community, and teach academic course work.
