JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE : Event Services Manager
DEPARTMENT : Event Services
REPORTS TO : Division Head of Events and Guest Services CLASSIFICATION : Full-time, Exempt
SUMMARY :

The Event Services Manager will perform all tasks necessary in the coordination of Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center events.
Candidate must be organized; detail-oriented and demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Candidates must be able and willing to work a varied schedule which may include nights, overnights, weekends, holidays, and extended work hours.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Plans, coordinates, and executes assigned events at The Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts
- Communicates with event promoters, event managers, and production managers throughout all stages of events from pre event planning through event execution and settlement
- Coordinates the requirements of each event based on the client contracts and production riders.
- Coordinates with operations, changeover, housekeeping, box office, catering, marketing, and technical services to insure that logistical details of each event are being delivered
- Procures external contract equipment and labor including but not limited to audio, lighting, backline, heavy equipment, vehicles, gases, décor, etc.
and ensure timely delivery and set up as needed for events
- Facilitates pre and post-event walk through to assess facility condition
- Serves as facility representative during events : enforces facility policies and procedures throughout each event, identifies and resolves event challenges, and resolves public complaints
- Schedules in-house and 3rd party approved vendor stagehands and rigging labor for assigned events
- Supervises back of house operations and staff including stagehands, security and standby crew during assigned events
- Manages event budgets and completes settlement documents for each event
- Communicates event requirements for the scoreboard, auxiliary boards, marquee and video equipment
- Ensures event compliance with applicable fire and safety codes
- Works with Event Services Department colleagues and Human Resources to determine the Part-Time Guest Services, Stagehand, and Parking hiring needs and implement the hiring process
- Works with the Division Head of Events and Guest Services to develop and implement the training and safety program for training new Part-Time staff
- In coordination with the Division Head Events and Guest Services, coordinates and follows up on any necessary disciplinary actions or additional training including performance reviews & development plans
- Works with Event Services Department colleagues to develop and implement the Annual Part-Time Staff Training Meeting
- Provides excellent customer service to a wide variety of customers - internal and external
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Demonstrated successful history of responsibility and leadership in a similar field
- Must have strong customer service skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under stressful conditions
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and CAD programs
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
- 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Event Management, Theater Management, Business Management or other related field is preferred
- A minimum of 3 years' experience managing events in a theater or arena is preferred
- Additional years of experience may be substituted for formal education
- Experience with technical theater equipment (lighting & audio) is preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following :

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
- Long hours during events
- Variable Schedule - Days, Weekends, Nights, Holidays
- Most of the time moderate noise levels associated with office setting
- Occasional loud noise level when working a concert / or louder events
SALARY :
- $55,000-$60,000
