Coastal Welding Supply-AWG Company, has an immediate opening for a Material Handler / Cylinder Maintenance at our gas cylinder production / distribution facility in Beaumont, TX!
In this position they perform product composition and quality sampling and testing. Routine inspection, calibration, and repair of meter and associated equipment (meter tube / plates, ultrasonic meter
Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect gas cylinders to detect surface defects and tests thickness of cylinder walls.
- Safely move gas cylinders off pallets onto testing equipment.
- Calibrate and adjust ultrasonic testing equipment to required standards and settings.
- Review and interpret test results and documentation as it relates to local, state, and federal compliance and DOT regulations.
- Record test results, cylinder serial number, and test date in a timely and accurate manner.
- Stamp test date and label gas cylinders once ultrasonic testing is complete.
- Ensure that defective cylinders or those requiring maintenance or repair are removed from service until corrected.
- Inspect, maintain, and perform maintenance on ultrasonic testing equipment, as needed.
- Operate computer equipment and value machine (if applicable) to conduct testing.
- Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Able to read and write English
- Mechanically inclined
- Technical skills
- Computer skills
