POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Corporate Controller to oversee and manage our accounting functions. This pivotal role involves maintaining financial integrity and compliance with all the regulations, while providing strategic financial insights to senior management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with financial standards and regulations.
- Prepare budget forecasts and financial statements, delivering insights for executive review.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, provide recommendations for improvement and expert financial guidance to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage the financial audit process and coordinate with external auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, adhering to all relevant regulations, in conjunction with CPA.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Evaluate and implement new financial systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in supervisory or management role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with Real Estate accounting software (i.
e. Yardi, Appfolio) preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentorship and staff development.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with financial systems and implementation and process improvement.
