We are looking for a diverse staff that reflects the community we serve, and we are currently seeking candidates for the position of entry-level Assistant District Attorney commencing on March 10, .
Assistant District Attorneys are given considerable responsibility early in their careers. Once proficient, Assistant District Attorneys handle serious and complex cases.
Assistant District Attorneys are required to abide by a commitment of three years of initial service to the Office of the District Attorney.
Assistant District Attorneys are routinely required to perform evening, night, weekend, and holiday assignments and to respond, on a 24-hour basis, to crime scenes, police precincts, and booking facilities.
Qualifications :
U.S. Citizenship as of the first day of employment
New York State residency, as of the first day of employment
Recent law school graduate admitted to New York State Bar or
JD class of Fall / Winter
Sit for first available UBE after graduation from law school
Sit for first or second MPRE and NYLE available after graduation from law school or sooner
Commitment of three years of initial service
Demonstrated interest in public service and criminal law.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
