Summary :
Performs magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and
standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the
organization.
Responsibilities :
Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.When
ordered, prepares and administers contrast media andor medications within
scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reportsresponds
to changes in status as appropriate.Core MRI Protocols, Unassisted Trauma and
Stroke Alerts, and MRI Contrast administration.Positions patient and performs
imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality
of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues,
including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and
reports scan results. Charges appropriately for all supplies used for
procedures.Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate imaging
parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality
control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, andor reports
equipment malfunctions as necessary.Reviews patient history and physicians
orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure
patients understanding and cooperation.

Complexity of Work : This role requires critical thinking skills, effective

ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful
environment and take appropriate action. Competent in : Contrast Enhanced MRA
Neuro & CSF Flow, Contrast Enhanced body MRA, WARP and Metal Reduction
Protocols, MRI Perfusion, MR Conditional Device Screening, and MRI
Reconstruction (MIPS, MPRS). Specific to the Breast Center- MRI Guided
BiopsiesRequired Work Experience : Two (2) years of MRI Technologist experience
with a minimum of 6 months at a Memorial Healthcare Hospital).Other
Information : Registered as a Technologist (RT), (RTT) or (NMTCB) and
registered in magnetic resonance imaging (MR) by the American Registry of
Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Registered as a Technologist (ARMRIT) -
Advance Registry MRI Technologist.
