Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities with Success Metrics
1. Complete clean-up for new clients - including fixing issues, reconciling accounts, completing RUN BOOK client notes, and creating the REVIEW SHEET for the client's financials.
Measure of Success : New clients' books are ready for Junior Accountants to begin ongoing monthly work within seven business days of initiating their onboarding at OCB Accountants.
2. Answer team technical and / or client-specific accounting questions with the heart of a teacher so the admin and bookkeeper understand and can apply to similar future scenarios.
Measure of Success : 100% of non-urgent questions are answered in Microsoft Teams during designated block periods. Urgent questions are answered within one hour of inquiry.
3. Reply to customer emails or delegate to other team members quickly and efficiently.
Measure of Success : 100% of emails are acknowledged during the same business day with a thoughtful and helpful reply. 90% of client requests do not incur a second request / -inquiry from the client because their initial request was sufficiently fulfilled.
4. Pull and Review Monthly Financial Statements for assigned clients, including :

of Income Comparison by Month
- Cross-check against clients' other applicable software / systems that feed or are reflected in their financials
- Review balance sheet and corresponding accounts such as Sales Tax, Payroll, A / R, A / P, Inventory, etc.
Measure of Success : Provide feedback to Junior Accountants to ensure 10% or less rate of recurring errors. Responsibility also requires completing the client cover letter and electronic files package for client push-out within 24 hours of the Junior Accountant completing client work for the month.
5. Proactively identify the "out of the normal" exceptions, errors, and opportunities for improvement - especially when backing up Junior
Measure of Success : Complete regular, monthly 1 : 1 meetings with individual Junior Accountants - including providing written notes highlighting at least five learning and / or problem solving points with each Junior Accountant
