POSITION OVERVIEW :
We are looking for a proven technology delivery leader with a an execution mindset to help drive strategic business & IT outcomes for our Specialty lines of business.
The position offers the opportunity to partner with business and technology leadership at The Hanover, while leading a cross-functional team delivering on a multi-year roadmap.

As a member of the team, you are expected to lead the execution and delivery of technology projects while collaborating with business partners to advance the Specialty organization.
You are methodical, have excellent communication and time management skills and can utilize those skills effectively across various business units.
You have technical background and Project Management experience.
Ultimately, the Project Manager is responsible for managing a wide range of technology projects of varying complexity.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL :
- Lead complex projects and be accountable for the estimating, road mapping, dependency tracking, planning, scheduling, management of risk, budget, change management, problem resolution, reporting and communicating, escalation coordiantion
- Manage interdependencies within projects
- Provide transparency and reporting to overall governance and steering structure
- Lead the interaction with business partners, project team members, other IT colleagues, and external vendors to ensure clarity of the business problem, outcome and scope and ensure issues and risks are understood and resolved
- Be responsible for building team alignment, encouraging team effort and successes, embracing continuous performance improvement through coaching, modeling the way, and developing followership through your daily interactions with the team
- Manage vendor relationships and outcomes through active collaboration and feedback with Program Management and Vendor Management
- Solicit and apply standards and best practices as defined by the project management Center of Excellence (Coe) and the Project Management Office (PMO)
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY :
- 7+ Years of related experience with project & program delivery (waterfall, iterative, hybrid, agile)
- Experience in implementation of Policy Admin System
- Experience in working with a 3rd party System Integrator Partner & Vended SaaS Solution customized to company needs
- Experience in delivering within a global IT Model- working across many time zones and ability to navigate vendor / consultant / employee relationship
- Hands on experience with GuideWire product suite will separate you from other applicants.
- Strong Business Acumen - Knowledge of Insurance business and products preferred and an ability to continuously learn and engage with business partners regarding scope and business value
- Strong relationship management skills Ability to effectively collaborate with business & IT partners and to foster strong relationships with them to aid successful project delivery
- Strong ability to connect dots and build integrated plans that include business timelines for filings, intersecting IT project timelines and deliverables where dependencies exist, and outside project risks.
Someone with an anticipatory mindset rather than a reactionary one.
- Bachelor’s degree with a preference of technology / computer science field or equivalent work experience
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills
- Strong leadership skills that deliver results and align with our CARE values
- Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, Enterprise One Planview, AgilePlace and / or Jira.
