Internship Timeframe : Spring / Summer 2025, 10 weeks
Job Description
The Industrial Engineering Intern will work intimately with critical manufacturing processes, equipment, and operators to optimize EnPower’s electrode and cell manufacturing processes.
The Industrial Engineering Intern will be responsible for providing insights and recommendations to the Operations staff to improve safety, throughput, and efficiency of various production processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn multiple electrode or cell manufacturing processes (mixing, coating, assembly, and / or finishing).
- Record and document process cycle times and define appropriate process flows.
- Investigate facility and / or process area layouts provide recommendations for workflow improvements
- Use a computer to keep detailed records and collect accurate data.
- Provide observations and feedback to Process Engineers and / or Engineering Teams on processing challenges.
- Contribute hands-on work for various projects and experiments.
- Contribute to development efforts related to production process development, troubleshooting, facility layouts, and maintenance.
- Attend and engage in engineering process review discussions as needed.
- Work closely with team members and help whenever necessary.
- Maintain a safe working environment while adhering to health and safety laws.
Qualifications
- Working towards a B.S. in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent Engineering-related field
- 1+ years of experience working with lab-scale or manufacturing equipment
- Experience using the scientific method to solve problems
- Detailed work ethic, close attention to detail, and precise communication
- Microsoft office proficiency and computer literacy
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform the following for extended periods of time :
- Standing or sitting
- Climbing / squatting / walking
- Repetitive motions and lifting
