Title : Senior Accountant
Location : Atlanta GA (onsite, 5 days / week in the office)
This position
Title : Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Americas Accounting Senior Manager and is responsible for supporting on-time month end close, performing account reconciliations and balance sheet analytics.
- Manage daily accounting operations to ensure the accuracy of general ledger. Review flux and trend analyses of financial statements data monthly.
- Responsible for month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations.
- Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams to determine the proper accounting treatment of business transactions and resolve any aging items.
- Support internal and external audits, as well as external reporting activities.
- Assess current SOX controls to ensure adequacy. Identify and implement any new controls on existing or new processes, including updating / creating process documentation, collaborating with business process owners, etc.
- Review complex and unusual transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
- Lead ad hoc projects and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5+ years of related corporate accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting and reporting
- Microsoft Excel medium to advanced user
- Strong analytical skills, ability to research issues in a complex accounting structure to resolve problems; detail-oriented, yet able to identify issues and grasp concepts at broader level.
- Must be a highly motivated individual with the ability to multi-task while working with a variety of individuals in both team and self-directed environments.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of management
- Ability to work within defined time constraints and within deadlines during month end financial close while driving longer-term projects to successful completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license
- Background in large multinational company
- Experience with Oracle Cloud, Microsoft Azure Data Lake, and SmartView tools
- Public Accounting experience a plus
