Job Duties
Are you knowledgeable of transmission and distribution (T&D) investment and upgrades? Do you have experience with regulatory issues, procurement practices, financing, and contract administration?
Then look no further! The Virginia Department of Energy, State Energy Office, is seeking a Transmission and Distribution Analyst to research current and emerging resources and technologies that aid in the development of the State Energy Office’s T&D Plan.
The successful candidate will research and support funding opportunities that enhance grid flexibility and resilience, support the development of T&D infrastructure, and serve as the program lead for the Federal Department of Energy 40101D Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grant and related grant administration.
This position is currently approved to work a Hybrid telework schedule with four days in the office and one day of telework.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience in order to qualify for this position :
- Knowledge of transmission and distribution (T&D) investment and upgrades to modernize the flexibility and resilience of energy systems
- Understanding of grid resilience and technologies to enhance grid flexibility and reliability
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to analyze and communicate information clearly and concisely
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with federal, state, local and tribal government officials and representatives of private sector consultants, vendors, and contractors
- Experience in regulatory issues, government procurement practices, financing programs, and contract administration in a progressively complex organization
- Results driven through prioritizing, taking initiative, and taking ownership
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Strong working knowledge of computer business and communications application software (Microsoft Office Suite)
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Additional Considerations
- Experience working with deployment of federal funded grant programs preferred
- Experience in regulatory issues, government procurement practices, financing programs, and contract administration in a progressively complex organization is preferred
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI is a plus
