DON - Director of Nursing
Northern Arizona
Temp / Temp to perm Opportunity - Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
$65.00 / hour
Under the direction of the Administrator, this position plans, organizes and directs the Nursing Department of a Medicare certified, skilled nursing facility and the provision of nursing care and services to its Members.
Oversees training / education programs for nursing personnel. Determines the appropriate therapeutic, physical and nursing environment, the necessary levels of nursing staff, the operational procedures and the evaluation of outcomes.
Ensures all federal and state nursing home regulations are met. Serves as a member of the management team and on a number of facility committees.
Interacts, as needed, with key management staff. Serves as a liaison with the Medical Director and providers relative to treatment plans, policies and procedures and regulatory implementation.
Learns, implements and monitors Arizona Management System (AMS) methods. Utilizes AMS concepts and tools for problem solving and continuous work / process improvements and efficiency.
Skills Required :
- Plan, organize, and direct nursing functions in a skilled nursing facility.
- Oversee training programs, staffing levels, and nursing care delivery.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state nursing home regulations.
- Collaborate with key management staff, Medical Director, and other providers.
- Implement and monitor Arizona Management System (AMS) methods for continuous improvement.
Skills Preferred :
- Advanced clinical management skills for complex medical conditions.
- Extensive knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong employee management skills, including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing systems for workflow and quality assurance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
Experience Required
- Advanced clinical management in skilled nursing facilities.
- In-depth understanding of nursing policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Extensive experience in employee management, including scheduling and supervision.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for resident care and assessments.
- Proficiency in human resource functions and quality assurance systems.
Experience :
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing / Long-term Care facility Supervisory / management experience as a nurse
- Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona Fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety
- 2 or 4 yr degree from a nationally accredited nursing program.
