Description

Purpose :

A Behavioral Health Intern completes intake assessments, service planning, crisis intervention and provides ongoing individual / family / couple / group therapy as needed.

The Behavioral Health Intern is part of the Behavioral Health Team and reports to their assigned Clinical Director.

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Diagnose and treat mental and behavioral health disorders.
  • Conduct regular appointments and establish trusting and positive therapeutic relationships.
  • Propose targeted treatment strategies designed to address everyone's unique needs; Assist with case management services.
  • Actively participate in individual and group supervision sessions
  • Maintain documentation and applicable records to comply with licensing requirements.
  • Verify patient information and perform routine data entry into various software systems within departmental deadlines.
  • Continually assess the needs and situations, providing adjustments in therapeutic interventions and strategies as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Second-year or Advanced Standing master's student of social work or a masters of counseling at an approved University (required)
  • Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card and TB Screener
  • FA / CPR certification - may be optional for virtual
  • Ability to document client records and notes within applicable deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, demonstrating professional communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain valid and current certifications and other applicable compliance criteria.
