Title : BUSINESS OFFICE SPECIALIST AP / AR FULL TIME WITH BENEFITS
Salary Range $44,601 $48,480
Job Summary : Under the general supervision of the Director of Business Services / CFO the Business Office Specialist will be responsible to provide support to the Director of Business Services / CFO and business office staff for the district’s financial management and orderly functioning of staff employment and benefits.
Maintains communication with staff serving Shiawassee RESD.

Required Education and Experience
- Associates degree in Business, Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required.
- A minimum of twoyearsofexperienceandcompetencyinschoolfinance(orequivalent)
- MSBO certification is also preferred.
General Job Responsibilities
- Payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, internal controls, business services to RESD staff and partners.
- Invoicing various agencies for services rendered (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with the RESD professional and support staff, community members, municipal agencies and other organizations as required.
- Assist with the Property Tax collection
- Assist with the accounting system and internal controls of the district
- Assist with Reconciliation of bank accounts and investments
- Assist with Purchase order process
- Assist with chart of accounts, year end and new year processes
- Assist with financial reports as requested by appropriate agencies and individuals
- Assist with Medicaid reporting
- Other duties related to Business Office requirements as assigned by Director of Business Services / CFO

- Accuracy with figures and ability to analyze, communicate and explain financial data and reports to non-financial personnel.

This is a twelve month position. Salary based on candidate and benefits as established by the Board of Education. Start date TBD.
