Title : BUSINESS OFFICE SPECIALIST AP / AR FULL TIME WITH BENEFITS

Salary Range $44,601 $48,480

Job Summary : Under the general supervision of the Director of Business Services / CFO the Business Office Specialist will be responsible to provide support to the Director of Business Services / CFO and business office staff for the district’s financial management and orderly functioning of staff employment and benefits.

Maintains communication with staff serving Shiawassee RESD.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associates degree in Business, Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required.
  • A minimum of twoyearsofexperienceandcompetencyinschoolfinance(orequivalent)
  • MSBO certification is also preferred.

General Job Responsibilities

  • Payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, internal controls, business services to RESD staff and partners.
  • Invoicing various agencies for services rendered (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with the RESD professional and support staff, community members, municipal agencies and other organizations as required.
  • Assist with the Property Tax collection
  • Assist with the accounting system and internal controls of the district
  • Assist with Reconciliation of bank accounts and investments
  • Assist with Purchase order process
  • Assist with chart of accounts, year end and new year processes
  • Assist with financial reports as requested by appropriate agencies and individuals
  • Assist with Medicaid reporting
  • Other duties related to Business Office requirements as assigned by Director of Business Services / CFO

Terms of Employment :

This is a twelve month position. Salary based on candidate and benefits as established by the Board of Education. Start date TBD.
