Position Summary :

Education / Experience :
Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
Special Knowledge / Skills / Certifications / Licenses :
Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the Nurse Practice Act and PNHS.
Basic computer / keyboarding skills required.
Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.
Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing and skill in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

- Schedule : Hours vary between 8am-7pm Monday through Thursday, and 7am-5pm on Fridays. We are also open every 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 8am-12pm, so it is expected that this role work 1 Saturday shift every other month which would be factored in to your FTE.
Department Overview :
Our Pediatric department provides a range of services from well-child care to day of acute visits. We care for children with complex medical, psychosocial problems, and acute and chronic childhood illnesses.
They also provide developmental, behavioral, nutritional assessment and guidance, and parent education.
This role will provide professional family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents as delegated by a provider or RN which may include the following duties :
- Escort patients to exam room and appropriately document information.
- Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by a clinician.
- Perform and assist with procedures and treatments as directed by clinician, such as; administering hearing / vision tests, rapid strep testing, nebulizer treatments and urine catheterizations.
- Perform laboratory specimen collection and processing to ensure the accurate and appropriate performance of patient testing while maintaining patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality.
- Maintain knowledge of, and comply with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards.
The Role :
Works within our busy pediatric clinic where we have 12 pediatricians who see on average patients each day.
Works alongside other LPN's, Medical assistants, Triage RN's, and Reception staff to provide quality patient experience.

Education / Experience :
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) : Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing.
One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
Medical Assistant (MA) : Graduate from a Medical Assisting Program accredited by "The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) : High school diploma or GED and current BLS Certification for Health Professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained.
On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.
- Must meet one of the following :
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one or more years pharmacy technician experience OR
- Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current EMT license.
