Responsibilities
An Ultrasound Tech must possess strong knowledge of anatomy and pathology, as well as excellent patient communication skills.
Ultrasound Technicians may work in hospitals, doctors’ offices, diagnostic laboratories, outpatient care facilities, universities or other healthcare sites.
Ultrasound Technician jobs may include explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients, maintaining the ultrasound equipment, applying the ultrasound gel to the area being imaged, performing the ultrasound ensuring the transducer captures every section to be assessed, evaluating and interpreting images, and maintaining accurate records.
Qualifications
- Valid BLS.
- Candidates must have a valid professional license within the state of practice.
- Specialty related certifications are preferred and may be required for specific allied healthcare positions.
- Proof of right to work in the United States.
