Chart is looking for an entry level Commissioning and Start-up Process / Mechanical Engineer for our office in The Woodlands, TX.

This position will include significant travel to commission and startup projects.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be

• Under the guidance of a senior engineer, the primary objective of this role is to provide Process / Mechanical Engineering support for commissioning advice and startup oversight to facilitate a safe and successful handover of Chart designed facilities that include LNG, LH2, etc. to the Clients.
• Under the guidance of a senior engineer, the Commissioning and Start-up Process Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient commissioning and startup of Chart designed facilities.
• Write operating manuals for Chart designed facilities based upon engineering designs.
• Participate in PID review, HAZOPs, and other design reviews as required.
• Perform Cold Box and skidded Equipment walk down activities as part of a team and prepare punch lists.
• Perform P&ID plant walk down activities as part of a team and prepare punch lists.
• Prepare operator training materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and operators, to ensure the successful implementation of startup plans and procedures.
• When not involved in commissioning and startup activities, perform Process Engineering tasks that include running simulations in HYSYS or Pro / II and generating Process deliverables that include PFD, HMB, Datasheets, PID, Control Narratives, and Cause and Effects.
• Prepare lessons learned reports and provide feedback to the Engineering teams.
• This role will involve extensive travel up for the first two years; up to 50% of the time.

Your Education Should Be

BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

Your Professional Experience Should Be

• Proficient in the use of computer & software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, etc.
• Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills will be essential in this role.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel will be important aspects of the job.
• Willingness to spend extended periods of time at client plant sites worldwide. This role will involve extensive travel up to 50% of the time.
