Hermitage Hall (a UHS company) is one of Middle Tennessee's largest stand-alone psychiatric residential treatment Hospitals.
Licensed by Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services as a mental health residential treatment center for children and youth, Hermitage Hall has provided services to families for over years.
We are currently looking for an Weekend Shift Supervisor to join our team of dedicated professionals. This role requires a full background check including fingerprint, drug screen, and employment verification.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Provides guidance and leadership to the Mental Health Assistants to ensure programming is executed as intended and staff are demonstrating quality resident care.
Responsible for coordinating staff appreciation and events for residents. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Hermitage Hall’s policies and procedures.
Ensures that staff are following and implementing the program and unit schedules.
Participates in interviewing, training, and identifying opportunities to improve employees’ skill base. Participates in setting standards for and appraising performance;
addressing complaints and resolving problems, de-escalation of residents including identifying and implementing actions that reduce physical holds of residents.
Utilizes PRN staff in efficient manner to minimize unnecessary overtime. Must understand, practice and support the 3 Service Excellence standards to foster a positive working environment
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures.
- Understands and assists with state licensing regulations, CARF standards, HIPAA policy, state contract, ordinances, laws, or other regulations required of them in their position and acts consistently in obedience to same.
- Uses appropriate counseling skills by de-escalating aggression, using active listening skills, using appropriate tone and volume of voice, providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and promoting a positive peer culture.
- Response to crisis and assists in the proper implementation of protective holds in a timely manner and ensures proper notification and documentation is completed.
- Identifies opportunities to improve employees’ skill base and setting standards for coaching and appraising employee performance.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
Must have BS / BA and 3 years experience working with children / adolescents, preferably in a residential setting. Supervisory experience preferred.
5 Years supervisory experience and 4 years related experience with children / adolescents; preferably in a residential setting must have at least one year college credits be in degree seeking program or willing to re-pursue BA / BS degree within 6 months of hire.
Must be at least years of age.
