Job Description
The position’s primary responsibilities will be to lead the North America Products business development team. The leader in this role will be responsible for daily management, defining and implementing the commercial strategy for NA direct sales and working closely with European and APAC business leaders.
This role will be responsible for NA revenue financial target. Person is also responsible to drive portfolio growth, define and implement customer needs, work with internal marketing and operational teams to develop and provide customer insights on innovation and commercial tactics.
Position will be a coach / player role as in the individual will have her / his own territory goals in addition to managing her / his team to achieve their individual territory goals
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for external sales revenues, sales strategy, processes, KPIs and best practices for global Eurofins DiscoverX Products
- Responsible for achieving products sales targets as well as hiring, territory definition management, and compensation plan management.
- Responsible for aligning strategies and tactics to achieve each territory’s monthly and / or quarterly net sales targets working with the regional leaders.
- Defines and implements customer segmentation strategies and coordinates across the various territories.
- Contributes to the strategy for Eurofins DiscoverX through knowledge and trends in the market, alternative markets, competitive activities, portfolio and gaps and customer needs.
- Supports the annual budget process providing bottoms up analysis of sales through knowledge of market evolution and customer trends.
- Developing and implementing training tools and mentoring while developing BDs and Sales Managers
- Development and maintain high level client relationships and global key accounts.
- Provide recommendations and feedback for operational strategy and improvement.
- Become a key member of the Eurofins DiscoverX Products senior leadership team to help define and execute on strategic and tactical initiatives.
- Maintain and utilize client and operational knowledge to drive business and promote high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Provide feedback and analysis to improve / adjust / expand any marketing strategies and initiatives.
- Demonstrate and promote the company vision.
- Use CRM to forecast and track opportunities as well as perform other tasks associated with the CRM such as drive cadence meetings with the business lines pertaining to Custom Products and measure KPI’s including BD activity with clients.
- Provide monthly forecasts working with the regional BD leaders.
- Complete expense reports per policy
Qualifications
A minimum education of a BS in Biochemistry, Pharmacology Biology or similar Life Science degree with demonstrated experience in selling science based services.
MS or PhD 8+ years of experience in drug discovery sales preferably in reagent and kit sales.
- 3+ years of sales management experience and extensive knowledge about sales processes
- Strong understanding of biologics development / QC Lot release market or another relevant field highly preferred
- Ability to analyze market trends and drive business development activities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and a firm grasp on skills required for closing and negotiating large deals.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor business development teams to ensure alignment with company objectives
Additional preferences :
Knowledge of large molecule potency lot release markets
Ability and / or Skills
- Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and other web-based applications
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Strong business development, organization, negotiation, scientific, and organizational skills, ability to multi-task
- Deep understanding of Sales tools such as CRM and prospecting software
- Hire, mentor and train business development professionals
- Customer-centric behavior
- Ability to work well in a team environment but also capable of working independently.
- Ability to partner effectively as part of a team to solve problems, negotiate solutions, and reach a consensus.
- Valid driver’s license
