The Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the Texas A&M University School of Dentistry invites applications for a full time 100% FTE, tenure upon hire faculty position with an 11-month service period;
the start date is Spring 2025 or negotiable. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Professor. The selected candidate’s salary, rank and start-up package will be commensurate with credentials and experience
This position calls for a person with administrative experience and one who promotes an environment of integrity and collegiality;
experience in clinical practice, leadership, and related scholarly achievements and / or protocol-driven research funding.
Candidates should have a track record of national and / or international leadership. The candidate is expected to expand opportunities for scholarship in clinical dentistry and encourage clinical research initiatives in alignment with the mission of the School of Dentistry.
Responsibilities as a department faculty member will include participating in teaching at both predoctoral and postdoctoral levels, research, and service.
The position will also include an administrative appointment as Department Head for Comprehensive Dentistry. As department head, the candidate is expected to have evidence of mentoring and promoting faculty and staff development.
Responsibilities of the position will include the administration of the faculty and staff for the predoctoral education program and experience in oversight of CODA-accredited advanced education programs such as Advanced Education in General Dentistry and Prosthodontics.
The School of Dentistry has a policy and opportunities for participation in extramural private practice for appropriately qualified individuals.
The successful candidate must have the following :
- DDS / DMD or equivalent
- Completed a CODA accredited advanced education program in AEGD, GPR, Prosthodontics, or equivalent experience in general dentistry.
- Board certification in their discipline (if applicable)
- Demonstrable record of academic accomplishments, scholarship and / or research, and leadership in an academic setting.
- Eligible for licensure in Texas
