Career Transitions is supporting a client located in Indianapolis, IN who is adding a Senior Design Engineer to their team.
The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing electronic components and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic parts and systems, as well as experience with injection molding processes a plus.
The Senior Electronics Engineer will play a critical role in driving innovation, solving complex technical challenges, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products.
As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Indianapolis.
What you are doing as a Senior Design Engineer :
- Design and develop electronic components and systems, including PCBs, sensors, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, specifications, and objectives.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate design concepts and propose optimal solutions.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept to production, ensuring compliance with timelines and budgets.
- Perform detailed analysis, testing, and validation of electronic systems to ensure reliability, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability, with a focus on injection molding processes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to source electronic components and materials, as well as to optimize injection molding processes.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, market trends, and best practices in electronics engineering.
What you need be a successful Senior Design Engineer :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in electronics design and development, with a focus on electronic parts and injection molding.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, PSpice).
- Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuits, and systems, as well as experience with PCB layout and design.
- Familiarity with injection molding processes and their application to electronic enclosures and components.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a track record of delivering innovative solutions on time and within budget.
