About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Orange County, CA.
This role is pivotal in leading and expanding our geotechnical engineering services, particularly in the commercial and industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will provide expert technical oversight, business development, and strategic leadership to drive project success and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities :
Technical Leadership :
- Oversee and provide technical direction on geotechnical projects, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective solutions.
- Conduct and supervise geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and field testing.
- Perform complex geotechnical analyses and design, including foundation design, slope stability, and seismic analysis.
- Prepare and review detailed geotechnical reports, calculations, and specifications.
Project Management :
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, managing project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and staff.
Client and Business Development :
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships in the commercial and industrial sectors.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, preparing proposals and participating in client presentations.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance the company's market presence and brand reputation.
Strategic Leadership :
- Contribute to the strategic planning and growth of the geotechnical engineering division.
- Implement innovative solutions and technologies to improve service delivery and project outcomes.
- Participate in professional organizations and activities to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with a strong background in commercial and industrial projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California required; Geotechnical Engineer (GE) license preferred.
Skills and Competencies :
- Extensive knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, practices, and methods.
- Proven experience in geotechnical design and analysis software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
