Job Description
It’s an exciting time to be part of IFF! We are looking for our next Design Manager to manage a team of Food Technologists to develop applications that showcase new and existing Tastepoint by IFF flavors, ingredients, technologies and capabilities for use in presentations and to execute customer project briefs.
Provide technical information and assistance directly to account managers and customers. Drive sales through analytics and flawless management of teams’ resources.
Develop direct reports through training programs, coaching and inclusive leadership. Excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence and intrapersonal skills, and decision making is highly required.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage the execution of daily project briefs to deliver on customer’s expectations and timelines.
- Lead and develop bakery, bars, cereal and confectionery prototypes using Tastepoint flavors / ingredients and technology.
- Supervise Food Technologists guiding their daily priorities, tasks, and constructing career development plans.
- Work directly with Flavorists to evaluate and select flavors to execute project briefs.
- Implement and execute strategic initiatives along with your commercial partners.
- Manage project pipeline, win rate, prepare project reports, drive sales.
- Comfortable to lead customer working sessions, conduct customer and internal presentations to share category capabilities and prototypes.
- Provide all necessary technical communications to account managers, business development, marketing, and others.
- Participation in all internal sensory panels.
- Set clear priorities for the team, guide and eliminate potential roadblocks to ensure timely execution.
- Work in client manufacturing facilities when required for possible scale-ups.
Job Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Food Science or related disciplines. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in food, ingredient, or flavor industry. 5 years in bakery, bars, cereal or confectionery.
3-5 years in a people leadership role.
- High level knowledge of recipe, ingredients, raw materials and their function as it relates to bakery, bars, cereal, and confectionery.
- Product development / formulation of products and sensory testing abilities.
- Business acumen to drive sales.
